I am sitting here on this snowy Saturday, surfing the internet and filling my brain full of new things. Today I have learned how to save all my favorites on delicious.com so that no matter what computer I am on, I can access my list. I think that anyone can also see my list…but I don’t mind that. I am kym_thurman on there if you want to see what I have saved so far. Baylee, my 19 year old showed me this. She said it is nice, because she can save things for school and organize them with tabs to quickly access information for papers she is writing etc. I like the idea of saving all the many blogs I come across, but don’t have time to add to my blog as a favorite.
I also learned to add my flickr photostream to my blog sidebar. Now I can post new photos to my flickr account and keep pictures current there for you all to see! I love seeing what other people are creating and posting to their photostreams….now I finally know how to do that.
Another thing I did on my yahoo account is update the widgets on my homepage to be ones I actually use, instead of ones that come loaded. Now I can easily get to flickr and delicious and facebook and divine caroline and npr and on and on and on….all what I want to see….instead of the ones that were there!
This is all while my kids are busily entertained by two friends here because they are snowed in with us, and my sister’s family bought us a wii for Christmas. So, a big THANK YOU to The Logan’s and Smiths for my technological breakthroughs of the new year!!!
What does any of this have to do with Chicken Soup? Well, we had some roasted Chickens that we (David) roasted at home last night. David’s sisters family gave us an awesome electric roaster…but we ended up seasoning it and using a roasting pan. David then boiled the bones for making the broth so that I have some stock around to use. Since I cannot have soy, we are learning to cook the way my mom did and the way our grandmothers did. I am slowly realizing that they actually knew better than we do about a lot of things. We have sacrificed a lot for the sake of convenience and I have paid for it with my health. So, now, after this year of journeying to figure out what was wrong with me and get better….I am ready to learn how to take care of myself and my family in a whole new way….and that starts with some Chicken soup! The sweet children are an added bonus!

I didn't know you have had health concerns….. I'm sorry to hear it.
Glad you are making changes to help heal.
Have a great weekend!
This is the first other local blog I find I'm enjoying reading it! Blessings,

Kym…. Feel free to use the Lynn Hybels quote. I know her personally… and that's a finishing quote from a book she wrote. All you, my friend!
