It’s beginning to look a lot like….a baby for Christmas!

by Kym on December 20, 2010

My bags are packed.
The presents wrapped….the college girls are all shipped off to their different destinations. One niece to her parents, :)one Chinese “daughter” to her parents…and our Baylee to India for a Christmas she will never forget.
The house was full of laughter, fun and snow with extra kids last week while we got everyone off to where they needed to go…or didn’t. Two Florida girls got to experience life in Maggie Valley in a whole different way as they were stranded on the mountain during our small ice storm. We enjoyed watching them sled and throw snowballs and enjoy the winter in Maggie. David slipped and slid their little car down the hill and we got them started on their way back to Florida…and the house is a lot more quiet without all the extra college kids here.
We spent one evening singing carols and talking about the coming celebration of Jesus’ birth. An advent time without an advent wreath. (In the craziness of this fall, I forgot to get candles!)
So…here I am, ready to go meet my son. This son that I have longed for, prayed for and delighted in. This sweet child I have not grown in my body, but in my heart. This child prayed for by my family and friends…my husband and my other children.
We are all in a season of Waiting. Hoping. Excited and cautious…jubilant and quiet. A little on edge. Ready.
I am not sure what to write or how to express the amazing journey we are on. Our family has come together to pray and love this little one in such a neat way. Without a picture, without touching my belly, without hearing a heartbeat, but knowing that GOD has orchestrated this birth and adoption.

Each day that passes I have thought about what to blog or how to express all the little things we have been doing…and then I get so lost in all the details that I go to bed and do not blog.

I want to share this journey with you. It is just so different from aything I have done before that I am not even sure what you would like to know…so if you have questions, leave them, and maybe I can answer them. :)

Merry Christmas Thurmans! I’m so happy for you all! I can’t wait to see pictures of the little yet-to-be-born baby, and hear how it is going for you all! Thanks for the nice update. Our prayers go with you as you make this trip, and always!
