Today I sat in the car for an hour waiting for Jay at the high school and I enjoyed talking to two great friends and staring at the mountains. The high school is on a plateau and the views from the school parking lot are some of the best around! It is totally amazing! I am guessing there is some sort of metaphor or meaning that I am supposed to get about mountains and moving and all that, but I was too busy just enjoying the fact that I sat in my car for an hour with one window rolled down, wearing a pair of JEANS….and I DID NOT sweat! I love the weather. And, yes, I know it is going to get cold, but I am looking forward to sweaters and hot chocolate and fires and fall and leaves turning and seeing my breath and….
I don’t mean to sound like a downer when I talk about the move, because all in all it has been great! There have just been so many funny things! I think that God gives us a sense of humor, and how well we use it is a test! (He has been testing us a lot!) I love laughing and I love hearing the kids laugh. Ron and Kiley were watching Aristocats yesterday and they were howling. It made David and I smile just hearing them.
Ron, home??? During the day? Yes, he made it through 1 1/2 weeks of public kindergarten and he missed being home so much that he cried everynight for five days….he missed being with the family (me mostly). Why would I put him through that for the rest of the year, when I really wanted him home in the first place? So, we pulled him out and he is back to being the happy, smiling boy he used to be!
On a completely different note, I got to sew for the first time since before we went to Oklahoma today!!! David helped me go to Lowes and decide from all the organizational stuff what to get so that I could actually SEE my sewing machine! We got 4 of the plastic 5 drawer chests for all the supplies, now all that is left to organize is the fabric. That will come soon. I made my first ever Koolaid purse and I figured out how to use the embroidery machine to applique! That is quite an accomplishment for someone who has had a love/hate relationship with embroidery! I will post pictures soon. In order to set all my sewing stuff up, we had to rearrange the house, of course! But doing so gave us all a better place to do homework, do crafts and use the computers! The room has a set-up for a wet bar as well, but I don’t think we will be doing much drinking and entertaining in the “craft room”! Hee Hee.
