Spring Fun

by Kym on May 6, 2010

I have been blogging in my mind all week, but when I sit down at the computer, I am getting caught up in the delights of so many other blogs and stories and pictures, that by the time I think of posting it is time to dash off to drop off snacks, pick up kids or start dinner. Over spring break, Ron got a new haircut! This is his mohawk in all its glory! When it is not up, he looks fairly normal, and when it is up….absolutely precious! COOL!

During spring break, Kiley spent some time playing on the computer on PBSkids.org. She loves all the games and stuff. While playing the Caillou game, she came across a recipe that Caillou and his grandma fixed. She asked me if she could print it and so she did. David and Kiley made it together last week and it was really tasty! She was so proud of it and we really enjoyed her helping and contributing. Sometimes I think we get caught up in the busy-ness of life and forget that kids really do love helping and serving and giving to others.

We ate the apple crisp warm for dessert, then the next night we had some with some vanilla ice cream. This was an easy recipe and kid/parent friendly! If you are looking for something fun to make with one of your kids, check out Caillou and his grandma! Kiley gives it a thumbs up! (and so do the rest of the Thurmans!)

I love cooking with my daughter and even Sam gets in to stirring and mixing now. Great pictures! And the mohawk, ahh, beyond cool. He is rockin'! :)

Happy Mother's Day to you.
